EDUCATION SYSTEM

The United Kingdom as a Study and Work Destination

The UK’s education system is recognized globally for its quality and structure, consisting of four main segments: primary education, secondary education, further education, and higher education. Primary and secondary education are compulsory for children from ages 5 to 16.

The system is divided into the following stages:

  • STAGE 1: Ages 5 to 7
  • STAGE 2: Ages 7 to 11
  • STAGE 3: Ages 11 to 14
  • STAGE 4: Ages 14 to 16

Stages 1 and 2 are completed in primary school, after which students move to secondary school at around age 11 to continue through stages 3 and 4.

At the end of each stage, students are assessed, with the most significant assessment occurring at age 16 when they take the General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) exams. After earning their GCSEs, students can choose to pursue further education (typically leading to higher education) or enter the workforce.

This comprehensive system ensures a solid foundation for students, providing flexibility to either continue with advanced studies or start a career path that aligns with their skills and interests

“…Explore the United Kingdom, a land of historic landmarks and vibrant cultural diversity, where world-famous cities blend seamlessly with picturesque countryside and prestigious educational institutions.
